Sercan Yasar is a Los Angeles-based FX Technical Director and Visual Effects Artist with a strong focus on procedural simulations, Houdini-based FX, and pipeline tool development. With a background that blends formal art education and self-taught technical skills, Sercan brings both creativity and engineering insight to every project.
Primarily working as an FX TD, he specializes in crafting complex effects like fluid dynamics, destruction, and particle systems, while also contributing as a Pipeline TD, developing and refining tools that enhance workflow efficiency and artist collaboration.
With a growing passion for machine learning and AI, Sercan actively explores how these technologies can be integrated into VFX pipelines—particularly in automating simulation tasks, optimizing caching strategies, and enhancing look development. He enjoys researching and experimenting with AI-assisted tools that can push the creative and technical boundaries of visual effects.
