Created this procedural tree system while working at Lighthouse VFX. This system allow us to create buch of trees , creating leaf , leaf orientation , wind simulation and so.
This system creating procedural tree using Houdini Lsystem , VOP & VEX:
-Calculating Tree's bush size and emitting asme amouth of points. With this method , each meshes emitting same number of points and tree looks more natural
-Creating new normal & Orient. System creating a new normal point between center of mesh and top of mesh and each normal looking apoosite of that direction. With that data creating new orient for leaves
-Creating wind dynamics for leaves and bushes with VOP.
-Creating 4 color and scale leaves. Created 16 polygon grid and projecting a leaf texture. After teture is done creating 3 more shape and giving them darker and brigther color to make them look more natural.
